"When values are clear, decision-making is easy.” - Roy Disney
GOOD INTENTIONS, without Vision, CAN HAVE BAD RESULTS and over time these intentions become institutionalized into the culture with little accountability for how they affect the health of the organization.
Because they seem like nice things to do at the time, any lack of vision allows them to become part of the culture without any check and balance on how much damage they can do to the performance culture. When “caring about employees,” erodes into “keeping people happy,” the VALUE erodes into placating every special interest rather than profitable results and the survival of the company.
Best Practices: Focus on performance culture values and eliminate entitlement culture values.
